About Us
The inspiration behind Koshur began with the love and appreciation we received for the traditional Kashmiri clothing we wore. As a family with roots in Jammu & Kashmir, we had easy access to these beautiful garments. Recognizing a gap in the market for a dedicated Kashmiri brand, we founded Koshur in October 2021 to bring the essence of Kashmiri fashion to a wider audience.
Since our inception, we have experienced steady growth and a positive response from our customers. Our focus on quality craftsmanship and unique Kashmiri designs has helped us build a loyal customer following and establish a strong online presence.
Sustainability is at the core of Koshur. We believe in creating fashion that is not only beautiful but also environmentally conscious. We ensure that our production processes have minimal environmental impact by prioritizing sustainable materials and reducing waste throughout our supply chain.
Craft integration is fundamental to our brand. We deeply value the rich heritage of Kashmiri craftsmanship, including intricate embroidery, handwoven textiles, and exquisite embellishments. Our authentic Kashmiri craftsmanship combined with a contemporary touch sets us apart, striking a balance between traditional aesthetics and modern sensibilities.
Our Founder:
Koshur is the brainchild of Anju Bakshi, Mehak Bakshi, and Tanya Bakshi, a dynamic mother-daughter trio. For years, they dreamed of sharing the beauty of Kashmiri fashion with the world. Despite coming from a non-business background, their passion and determination led them to take a leap of faith in 2021. Each brings unique talents to the brand: Anju’s keen eye for detail, Mehak’s innovative designs, and Tanya’s strategic vision.
Together, they have built Koshur into the face of affordable luxury Kashmiri fashion. Their diverse perspectives and shared love for their cultural heritage have been the driving force behind Koshur’s success. Through their collaborative efforts, they have created a brand that not only celebrates Kashmiri handicrafts and traditions but also embraces modern fashion sensibilities.
